Raindrop Kiss

by jac   Feb 7, 2008

Sitting here, all alone, watching the raindrops pass me by
Memories of the past nine years flood through my mind
A current strong enough to push the tears from my eyes

Why must things in life occur at such a rapid pace?
Everything fine one day, the next sadness beats you in the face
Even these raindrops must be cherished, life must be embraced

One by one each droplet falls, sliding unhurriedly down the glass
Each and every one is another memory, taking its time to go on past
You can’t rush these things, make every second linger, make them last

You’re rarely eating; your breaths are rapid and shallow
You’re aged, you’ll no longer continue to grow
You’re my first, my only, how did your life fall so low?

Watching you sleep from across the room, you appear to be in bliss
The droplets will always be on my mind, helping me reminisce
Always there splashing on your face, just let me see one last raindrop kiss.
