Gardener of Souls

by Poetic Ninja aka Papachopchop   Feb 7, 2008

Smacked in the face with true reality,
With the truth of life surrounding me,
Forced to see the mirror for what it truly shows,
Realizing I shall never reap what I sow,
But the field that I planted was barren,
The ground was dry and the air was arid,
What a fool that I must be,
To believe anything there would grow for me,
For the field I plow is the depths of my soul,
And not reaping a harvest has taken its toll,
Perhaps what I need is another field,
One that is fertile with a harvest to yield,
In search I shall go for another life,
One that isn't so chaotic and full of strife.

This is actually a very good poem in terms of how it's written. I can relate to your feelings as well. Right now, I'm on a new road on my life. And I hope one day a special friend of mine will join me. I was a fool myself in regards to a former female friend. But right now, I view myself as a man instead of a fool. And we all can't worry about the past.

You're excellent at writing sad poems and with the way you express your feelings.

I'm sorry but there isn't an error. I thought I saw one, but I must have been mistaken. Keep up the great work!

This is truly a beautifully, sad, written poem. I loved every single word of it. The flow was once again flawless and the imagery once again perfect. There is only one error in the last line from where you copied and pasted. Other than that minor error this is another perfect example of your magnificent talent. After you have corrected the small error, this one is definitely going in my favorite poems. Keep up the good work.
