Leather / lace

by Whydowefear   Feb 7, 2008

When I look in your eyes in the dark I see love,
the possibility of love, but in the light I see pain and worry,
deep beyond anything you ponder life and what it holds for you,
but in the dark a different side shows through, passionate and subtle.
You are leather and lace, a woman separated by light and darkness.
Opposites. A walking contradiction, a curiosity. Ever dwelling on your thoughts I write these words without thought and in doing so have come closer to you. In ways you wont understand I am always there with you, even as I am away a thought of you makes me shudder as if you caressed my cheek, lace. Then as soon as you came you are gone and I feel the sting of your hand upon my face. Leather. When will this cease. Stability is unattainable. Unmistakably uncompromising you are unyieldingly and unwillingly drifting from me, and I don't know why. But I will never say goodbye, try as you might you do not want this to die.
