Uncapturable truth

Uncapturable truth

His words sting my lips,
burning holes in tongue.
Piercing screams fight me,
I've never, ever won.

It's a battle unresolved,
and I'm fighting back tears.
It's a war not even started,
I'm shaking with fears.

Save me from my nightmare,
hold me close enough - -
to feel my heart beat.
But, not too rough.

I'm breakable like glass,
and I'm beginning to shatter.
I'm falling behind - -
these emotions I gather.

It's an uncapturable truth,
and it's eating me alive.
But, I've never, ever won - -
and, somehow I survive.
