On the hour

Like a brick wall
She withstands the anger now
With the same clenched teeth and deathly stares
For some reason the tears arent there
She must be immune now
Now matter how much they force her down
Shes still floating above them
But with no emotion

Another bad day, here comes the screaming
Back away, before you begin bleeding
She knew it was coming
Because after being so high up, you always have to come down again
But why so soon?

Mommy spilled supper
Mommy broke a glass
Shes screaming louder now
Counting the seconds that it lasts
Staring hard into the distance
Reminding herself, "I can take this"
And all thats remaining, is supper on the table
Not a year fell
But not a sorry was told
As Mommy covers up the evidence
And she looks at the pin she used to hold
Shes stronger now thatn she ever was
