Silence

I'm trying to think
Just clear away the thoughts
Of the pain that has come
The pain I have brought

I'm trying alone
To hear that sound
Of someone who's here
Someone around

The silence consumes me
Such silent despair
I'm trying to reach
Something that's not there

I'm trying, so slowly,
My patience runs out
Just trying so hard
To figure this out

I'm trying to listen
My eyes open wide
But no matter what I do
I'm running out of time

Silently, I'm failing
And time's passing by
As the silence continues
I'm left wondering why
