Shouting in Whispers

I'm shouting in whispers
but you still cant hear
you act like you don't understand
as i frantically scream in fear

i feel my lips mouth the words
but don't hear anything come out
you look at me quizzically
like you don't know what this is about

i try to tell you
this isn't a joke
the words get caught in my mouth
and i start to choke

i ask you to help
but you just sit and stare
you don't understand this importance
or maybe you just don't care

this cant be right so i
start to second guess my sanity
please don't look at my with those eyes
i don't want your pity

and i want to tell you
when you ask if I'll be okay
i want to scream and hold you
make you promise you will stay

is this what you expected
on your search to never-land
dreams don't come true just because
now don't you understand

you should try to listen
