Race to the End

by Carmen   Feb 9, 2008

She stares at the mess you've made,
wondering where she went wrong.
Because she's only left with ruins.
Someone in the picture can't belong.

Her mind dances, tangled in thought,
thinking of every day gone by.
When you turn the corner and leave,
she blends with the wallpaper and cries.

It's hard for her to hold on,
lost all the games you've played.
Heartache makes her weak.
Wishes on shooting stars fade.

She tries to drown out her sorrows.
You walk by with a smile.
If breaking her heart was a race,
you ran the extra mile.
