That Night

by Taylor Lyn   Feb 8, 2003

I kept waking, I knew you were there
as the wind blew rapidly through my hair.
Into that void I kept screaming your name
but to my suprise, no one came.
As the rain started pouring into the night,
my eyes and heart filled with fright.
I saw you standing there, so far away
standing in the break of the waves.
Walking down the cool sand to greet your face.
My energy pumping uneasily through my veins.
Your cool fingers caressed my back
as I felt your warm, smooth lips upon mine.
The tingle you sent through my body made my heart race.
You holding me in an everlasting embrace.
Oh how I've always loved you so.
Why did it take so long for you to know?
I have never loved anyone the way I love you
Trembling, weak in the knees.
I looked into your sea green eyes
all fears vanishing that were ever so near.
As our smouldering kiss maintained its pace.
I opened my eyes to see with beautiful grace
your amazingly gorgeous face.
I'm falling even more in love with you.
Letting go of all I've held on to
I let you make your move.
But in such disgust, my longing lust
began to vanish.
Realizing it was not you I loved,
for I looked into your eyes, seeing a stranger.
It was at this moment we parted ways
as the sun began to rise.
After all I went through, I realized it was you.
You are the one I truly love.
Endearing a more promising pain I sought to face.
I told you, my words spoken at an incredible rate.
I would do anything to be by your side.
And feeling your presense was near
turning around, as the sun rose,
fell into your kiss and survived the bliss.
