Rebuild Us

by HollywoodSmile   Feb 9, 2008

A pale glow
softly crawls over bleak city blocks,
as the eerie calm of morning
dusts the slumbring town.

as age, slowly gaining knowledge,
lives on as time itself,
silent rains humble the
distasteful acts of current day.

dreary and shamful,
society trudges on,
to one day rehabilitate;
we may only hope.

by end of day,
our sentance earned
we trail back to icy seclusion
not to talk of disgrace we bring.

one child, grown full in mind,
has come to speak her peace;
to reteach our ways, we would not be too late,
but will, should we grow ignorant of our mistakes.
