A twelve year old girl
gone from the world
no one truly cared
except two kids
one boy, one girl
her only true friends
both were her only loved ones
the girl cries on the boy's shoulder
as he comforts her
they see a note by her grave
the girl picks it up
and reads to herself
realizing it's for them
she shows it to the boy
what they found was a letter
a bloody one at that
and by the looks of it
the now-dead girl wrote it
it's tear-stained and dirty
but they can read every word
and when they're done
reading the last word
they look to the grave
and smile to the sky
they put the note
in the tombstone's shadow
re-reading the inscription
and leaving without hesitation
"march 11, 2006
the life of this girl made her sick
a seventh grade poet
and very little know it
she has now died
without a single cry
a death at noon
this girl died to soon..."
her tombstone read
and yet the letter said
"dear you two who've cared,
my heart's been open
even broken
but I've loved you
you know it's true
you knew it would happen
that this day would come
my heart's become numb
my cries never heard
you may think it's absurd
this world hated me
and wouldn't leave me be
now I've had enough
i can't deal with this stuff
if it helps you so
i want you both to know
when i did it
it was a perfect fit
my life
wasn't taken by that knife
at least not it alone
i used everything at home
i locked my door
and sat on my floor
i died by my own will
not by a homicidal kill
i died at home
all alone
but do not cry
or even ask why
because i think you should know
that my love will show
i did die
but i also cried
not for regret
for joy that i can finally get
to go somewhere
in the air
where i can belong
i won't be gone for long
because I'm watching overhead
listening to every word you said
don't worry about me falling
because love is calling
my love for you
both of you two
always know
that I'm letting love show
if you ever need me
I'll always see
and listen to you
so don't walk away blue
this is my bloody letter to you..."
and as they walk away
they wonder why die today
on the day
before turning thirteen
the day before march 12th
her birthday
and leaving a bloody letter
in which was wrongly dated
"march 12, 2006" was the date
they realize that the date
made her feel thirteen
it may have been sad
but they won't cry anymore
remembering her letter
the bloody letter
of a saddened heart
a lost soul
she died
with a letter in her hand
and a knife by her side
bloody letter to her friends
letting them know
this wasn't truly the end.
