I have to be honest, I really enjoyed your work but I have two interpretations; 1. the heart was betrayed in order to protect it
2. The heart protected itself by banning the love before it got broken

or maybe it's neither or a little of both, that's the beauty of poetry.
Anyway, you're a very good writer. I especially liked the lines 3-6, the comparison of the new love being born to something as fragile and innocent as a newborn chick
