My Daddy

Daddy left for work today
I gave him my goodbyes
Mommy held me as he left
I hugged her as she cried

Daddy's in the army still
Hes fighting in the war
Mommy says shes proud of him
But we still miss him more

Christmas day, he made it home
And stayed for fourteen days
I know he'll be back home again
But still my Mommy prays

Mommy watches on the news
But I don't understand
Still, I always sit with her
And hold my Mommy's hand

Daddy told us to be strong
I told him to be brave
My Daddy is my hero
