Night Vigil (a sonnet)

Shadows sink into trenched line
As the light falls away from sight.
Streets light up via neon sign
And other artificial shine.

Around us now the darkness breaks
Along with it so does my heart.
For without you my soul but shakes
And furrowed brow your absence makes.

For you I long in this dark night
For you my fire keeps burning
I wish you once more in my sight
From now until returns the light.

And when I see you I'll give start
Because too long we've been apart.
