It all seemed as though it was a dream.
I thought we'd get to see forever.
But forever came and went away.
And now I'm stuck here thinking of all of our yesterdays.

When you said goodbye,
I was wishing it was all a lie.
You said you needed a break,
And for a second you sounded fake.
My heart was shattered like a mirror,
But to you I don't think it mattered
It's so hard to get over you,
But I guess it's time for me to get a clue.

When you promised me that I'd always have your heart.
But I guess that was a lie from the start.
You meant the world to me.
And that you could never see.
You'd always tell me that you wanted to have fun.
And how you were too young.

I remember all those times when I thanked god for sending you to me.
But that was before I realized I truly couldn't see.
Because love blind all from the truth.
And we all know that the truth can really hurt.

All these memories I now have to hide in the back of my head.
I have to pretend that my love for you is dead.
Knowing that my love for you is still as strong as it was then.
I struggle cause my head says let go but my heart won't listen.
This is a battle between the head and the heart and,
The heart will always be the last man to stand.

I love you and you know who you are.
Forever you'll be my only shining star.
