Who Am I?

by Amina   Feb 11, 2008

I sit back and stare blankly at a distorted reflection
And I can't help but to ask who am I

I was named at birth
Oh what an identity

A father who left me
Who never understood me
One who I'm not even sure loved me
So who am I?

A daughters the label I've been given
And yet unmistakenly I still ask who I am

Who am I to have been left?
Who am I to have been given up?
Who I to have been thrown away?
I still ask myself everyday

As my wrinkled hands cover my face
And my bitter, salt tears form an ocean
I still wonder who I am
