Under the Stars

by Indian Comma Bean   Feb 12, 2008

Carelessly strolling,
Mind a wander in this wonderland,
Time ticking, tolling,
too beautiful too understand.

Wistfully you laugh and play,
Mindlessly we dance astray,
The trees all bickering,
The leaves all snickering.

The flowers swing
as the birds whistle a tune,
the church bells ring
for the time is noon.

---Blackberries,
--Blueberries,
--Red berries,
---Wild berries.

Picking, not eating, fat chance,
she called me chicken,
Running and jumping, caught a fleeting glance,
Made our way home as the darkness thickened.

Close together, cozy by the fire,
Staring out the window at the prominent stars,
She laughed and said what she desired,
Hoping she'd never lose this moment of ours.

Please suggest a new title, thank you.
