He thinks I still care

I think he thinks I still love him,
If he does he''ll have to stop and think.
I never really loved him in the first place,
Our hearts were never truly in sync.

Hearing his voice on the phone again,
Made me realise I'd done the right thing.
He never treated me with care or respect,
Or brought me the joy love should bring.

He hurt me one time too many,
And he laughed when he made me cry.
He made my self-confidence wither,
And every word he spoke was a lie.

It took me so long to trust again,
For the wounds that he left to repair.
I can't understand why he called me,
He obviously thinks I still care.
