Early every morning
she wakes up at 6:04
and she picks her broken body
off the cold, hard floor
she gets ready for school
making herself pretty as can be
thinking to herself
"maybe today he'll notice me"
now she's off to school
at exactly 7:08
still very hopeful
that today could be great
she takes one last look in the mirror
to make sure every hair's in place
puts on a little blush
enhancing the color in her face
as she walks into school she thinks
"maybe today is the day
i will finally
take his breath away"
her friends see her
and says she looks great
but it's off to class
it's all ready 7:28
the day goes by
and her hope fades away
what a shock
he didn't notice her today
the last bell rings
at 2:25
she quickly leaves school
before she starts to cry
she runs to her car
as her hair falls out of place
she looks in the mirror
and wipes the tears from her face
she runs to her room
as soon as she gets home
she can't believe he did it again
and deletes his number from her phone
she writes in her diary
about him for a while but then her phone rings
and a frown turns to a smile
he called her again
just like last night
and when they said good bye
she finally felt all right
she called him back
she wanted to talk again
he told her he liked her a lot
but only as a friend
tears threaten to fall
so she quickly says good bye
she hangs up the phone
and starts to cry
she gets up from her bed
and closes the door
she feels so worthless
so she lays on the floor
the next morning
her alarm sounds at 6:04
and once again
she gets up off the floor
she wants to be more
then just his friend
so she gets up
and does everything all over again
but he makes her feel miserable
like yesterday and the day before that
she looks at him
but he doesn't look back
today ends like all the others
and her heart breaks a little more
and tonight just like last
she'll be sleeping on the floor
