How to kill a butterfly, let love die

by StandStill   Feb 16, 2008

Where do the butterflies go
when the winter comes
probably from the same place
from which these words flow

do their gossamer wings fade
to black
when a new love is made
and lost, never to come back

do they suffer
do they hurt
in this heart's war, hovering in the buffer
dying in the dirt

i do not want to cause their pain
tho they have caused
much in their day
and forced me not to pause

the butterflies led me through
and now how i repay
is kill them when i see you
right now, this day

but im not going to fight for them
i won't save them
because i won't save you
i can't
