Never such a bronze has ever met my eye
leaves fall down from the bluebell sky
Whilst singing blissfully the songs of yesterday
When the flowers and the kisses flew away
Our little clenched fists would never open up
Spinning round the poppies and the buttercups
Autumn came with kicks of leaves
And ring-a-round the widest trees
Laughing at the heavens and the birds that flew by
Then chasing the sweetest butterfly
Losing our shoes in the highest branch
Running up the hill barefoot to the horses ranch
Never such a sparkle as the moon by the bubbling brook
Where we played faithful peter pan and wicked captain hook
Walking past the windy blackberry wood
Were peter pan met best friend robin hood
Never such a bronze has ever met my eye
Since the wind took away the bluebell sky
Whilst singing carols for Christmas day
Now that autumn and the leaves have blown away.
