The Love You've Shown

by Marc Ruby   Feb 17, 2008

The hate I keep inside
Burns way down deep
The thoughts of you linger
The kind that steal my sleep

I just can't forgive myself
For all the pain I've caused
Broke your heart a million times
Made you feel alone and lost

Your loyalty was unwaivering
Your love never ending
The mail it kept coming
The love letters you were sending

Yet somehow I kept you away
Distance was my game
Kept my feelings at bay
Now we're no more
It is I who is to blame

Forgiveness is something
You just can't seem to find
Maybe one day you'll forget
Somehow let it go with time

I doubt you'll ever let me know
Just how much you still care
But I feel your love deep inside
And I know it isn't fair

Life has just been cruel
No breaks for you has it shown
You see all I ever wanted
Was to make you happy
Now all the chances I have blown

So I'm writing this for you
To let you know I was wrong
And how much I love you too
My how you've grown so strong

So strong in mind
So strong in heart
You were my rock
Right from the start

So carry on sweet child
You'll somehow learn to smile
I know this to be true
Through the love shown to me
The Love expressed by you.....
