I was a Prince once

by Arun Khan   Feb 17, 2008

I was a prince once
With a kingdom of dark and beauty
I moved like the season months
So deeply devoted to my duty
I walked upon earth
Giving the kingdom its breath of birth
And as it grew in power
Conspiracy conspired to devour
I lived through battles and scars
I conquered Saturn and Mars

When did the enemies breathe within me?
How did solitude become the truth within thee?
Everyone fled to a world so stranded
Another night my princesses abandoned

I was a prince once
Within the dark I found beauty
Within the horrors I found jewels
Set a fires within the halls of glory
I watched as the masked balls became insane fools
None could see the fall of an empire
Among the ashes risen shadows came out from retire
Comforted by lonely wolves
Trembling, tearful, tired cheers
As I fled the fields and my vengeance neared

When did revenge bloom within me
How did betrayal creep inside thee
Everyone served a world so greedy
As I thirsted for blood secretly

I was a prince once
Among foul fiends I found home
With murderous assassins I dined
I earned livings within the thieves Dome
Preying on any victims I could find
I grew wilder and wilder
Beyond passion my craving for hate
With every tear year passed they lost shelter
And I went forward to destroy something I helped create

Now speak up traitor, recognize me
Search deep within thee
Can a picture be found in thy memory
The debts to be paid in blood, until thy body is empty
