I've realized lately
that I've been smiling greatly
without any reason why

but i noticed quite quickly
that the answer was prickly
and was poking me right in the eye.

how was I so blind?
was I out of my mind?
was everything before this a lie?

i have a best friend!
no more pretend!
I yelled to myself and the sky

speed dial 1 on my phone
it had to be Simone
there isn't even a tie!

before, I was lost
now, I'm filled with exhaust
because I'm so happy (no I'm not bi)

I love you so much
you've become my crutch
now I feel like I'm gonna cry

I know this was fun
but this poem is done
because I ran out of words ending with I

so ill talk to you before long
before I break out in song
so for now I say, bye-bye
