Healing Angel

by Shannon   Feb 17, 2008

I sit on my bed
She lays me down
She pulls on the covers
Without a sound.

I look at her
'Am I alright?'
She looks at me
And says goodnight.

She puts me to sleep
with the touch of her hand
I fall into my dreams
With the man made of sand.

She stays with me
And watches me sleep
She does not talk
She does not weep.

And as I sleep
She tries to heal
For all my wounds
She can feel.

But she cannot heal
This heartbroken heart
Even though
My angel is smart.

And when I wake up
My angel is crying
Because she has failed
My angel is dying.

So when she does go
I will follow
Her to the sky
I will not wollow.

And as we both go
She takes my heart
Was this her intention
Right from the start?

And as we leave
to heavens den
My healing angel
Has healed me again.
