Duty Calls

by the dancing dreamer   Feb 18, 2008

To sleep.
She thought as the crying
of the baby
could be heard
in the background.

To give into that
overwhelming slumber,
and to just wake to find
this was all a dream.

But it wasn't,
and even her daydreaming
could not stop
the present.

So, she climbed out of bed
and attended to her duties.
