Rebel of the soul

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   Feb 18, 2008

People say I'm a rebel of the soul
I'm a leader at heart
But who will really follow me
When it's time for me to depart

Words with a serrated edge
Are cutting through my thoughts
I can't show you how I do what I do
Because instincts cannot be taught

Plus why should I teach you anything
When you left me to drown
When I tried to ask for help
It suddenly became a ghost town

What have you done for me
That should make me reconsider
Why should I help you
Now whose the highest bidder

"The world is a stage"
So just let me play my role
I guess you could call me
a rebel of the soul

I love the rhyme in this one. And the subject is different to a lot of stuff that I've read recently. You really know how to end poems! This is another great ending!
