How Different It Would Be

by imstillwaiting   Feb 18, 2008

Glancing at the day as it goes by,
And for the longest time,
I've been watching the sunset alone,
Just me and myself.
And you wonder how the sunset could be different without you.

Walking past every building, every road, every bus stop I know we once were at,
And for the longest time,
I've been taking this journey alone,
Just me and myself.
And you wonder how this journey could be different without you.

Reminiscing the memories as time flies,
And for the longest time,
I've been dreaming of you, without me,
Just you and not us.
And you wonder how you and I could be different from us.

Missing you as the distance grows,
And for the longest time,
I've been running, non-stop, after you,
Just me and myself.
And you wonder how turning back could make things different.

Living life as I get tired,
And for the longest time,
I've only had one person to lean on,
Just me and myself.
And you wonder how your presence could make things different.

Loving you as the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years goes by,
And for the longest time,
I've loved you,
Just me and not you.
And you wonder how each second felt, without you.
And you wonder how each minute hurt, without you.
And you wonder how each hour throbbed, without you.
And you wonder how each day stung, without you.
And you wonder how each week ached, without you.
And you wonder how each month suffered, without you.
And you wonder how each year killed, without you.

And how dare you wonder how much I've loved you.
