Lunar Song

by Jason   Feb 18, 2008

The song of the moon
Contradicts the song of the sun
Where one brings life
The other gives none

People would say
The sun's intentions are bright
But others would say
The moon's is a delight

Now this would all depend on your point of view
What you would think is right or taboo

Take the time now to think of what i just said
I'm sure you'll be able to find the message in your head.

As for me I prefer the song of the moon
Just like how people prefer July to June
The transient beauty of silver light
Brings reassurance in the dark of night
But every now and then clouds block the way
And you are left betrayed

The lunar legend goes to state
"A candle burning out is only fate"
Where the solar legend contradicts
"an egg hatching is only fit"

As of now I expect you to see
The outcomes of the solar and lunar creed

The sun gives life while the moon takes it away
Warmth in the light Death at night

Now why do i prefer the song of the moon?
Death cannot come too soon
Life is just a bit too painful to bear
Maybe tonight the moon will grow dark
And extinguish the light which the sun sparked

The words go along well and i love the metaphor in it. my favorite part of this entire thing is the warmth gives you life and death at night thing
