Unwanted Parcel

by Lilly   Feb 19, 2008

Unwanted parcel
sat alone on the porch
Panting and sighing
but going unheard
The string her only friend
binding and securing
The stamp a visitor
laughing and chanting

Dog comes along
does business with paper
Old man walks by
now parcel is flatter
Rain pours on down
She gets a bath
Still no name
matches the address

"Mr postman" she shouts
he does not hear
He's blind to her calls
and lacks caring tears

"Hello Mr postman
please come back
your got it wrong
an owner i lack"

Her face pack grows
the paper transformed
tatoos are running
the string all in knots
footprints walking about
Postman asleep
and the present leaking out

Unwanted parcel
alone in the cold
her paper crying
and he stamps going red

I am cold
I am crying
My eyes are red

My Postman fading
