A girl... Only 16

A soul kind and true
Stole from us so soon
A girl only 16, dreams so pure
A heart so full
Now just a memory

She fought so hard
Smiled thru the pain
A friend so close
Now so far

Her memory was fading
But she always remembered me
Cried my name an there I stood
To see her fall

I could not help
Helpless I watched
With my blurry eyes
I woke up that morning

To find out
That girl who was there
Sat up in bed no more
She said my name

That night they say
My friend she was

In my heart she will stay

This Poem was written and dedicated to my friend Leslie Heather Brown. We met on the site poems-and-quotes and we talked for a few months. During our talking I found out she stayed at Hospital for Sick Children. She wrote me a few times a week and as I read her poems she wrote her memory was starting to fade and she couldn't remember how we met or how she helped me. But she always knew who I was and why I was there. She died due to a brain tomber they did not see. She said I gave her hope and strength. She said she thought she hurt me I can't tell her she didn't. She said my name before she went I dedicate this poem to her.
