Can you see my pain

Can you hear my piercing pain
On a moonlit night
Beams of despair cascade and strain
To bring my life some light

Can you touch my flawless smile
Yet still believe it's real
A few small steps stretch to a mile
My life becomes surreal

Can you smell my scentless fear
Worn upon my skin
Away from death I cannot steer
My life completes the sin

Can you taste my noisy blood
Crying in my heart
Tears have caused my veins to flood
Every sob a dart

Can you see my hidden soul
Preparing now to leave
My heart has left a gaping hole
No painkiller could relieve

Can you sense my lost desire
That depression stole
Can you re-light my fuelled fire
Can you make me whole?
