Rescue

by ryan   May 19, 2004

They're closing in,
The darkness surrounds you
The evil one is upon you
And you're defenseless before him
His might engulfs you
And the shadow moves in...

But do not fear
I am here
I will rescue you.

If fire should engulf you,
I'll smother all the flames.
If you're drowning in the deep,
I will follow as far as it takes.
If the winds were sweeping you away,
I'd hold you closer to my heart.

I am here.
I will rescue you.

If all the world is cold to you,
I'll warm you in my arms.
If no one seems to like you,
I'll shower you with love.
If you feel abandoned,
I would drop everything to get to you and make it right.

Do not fear.
I am here.

If the very gates of Hell should fling open and the legions of Damned angels and souls descend upon you in all their strength and numbers,

STILL I say do NOT fear
I am here.
I will rescue you,
Or Hell shall have me first.
