Walking alone

by keithnwv   Feb 22, 2008

Walking alone, pondering thoughts
wanting to smile but holding it in
when recalling your words to me
why won't i smile? why won't i allow it ?

one after another they stop and ask
as i am walking along alone
"are you ok", you seem different
i'm fine. another lie, though longing to tell the story

why are your eyes so red, they look bad
"oh they're always like that , i'm ok"
if they only knew how much i want to cry
how much i long to laugh

you're sitting there, i wonder what you think
do you hurt as much as me, you hide it well if you do
the one with the knife sits down between us
not close to either, but seems to want to separate us

just close friends were all we were
he seems to want to claim you for his own
if thats what you want to
i'll continue to walk alone

Alone yet not lonely, when climbing down from the mountain to go to town, it is sometimes easier to just turn around . Loved the fibe within the text.

Sad, but true for a lot of people...I have such a person in my life too. His knife severed all ties that bound us once;)

    Take care,

Feeling alone although you are around other people is the loneliest feeling in the world. An excellent expression of your heart.
