Fallen Portrait

by Jake   Feb 23, 2008

Maybe someday this world will see,
Because I'm not going to be around when it falls,
Do let them know I was here,
Let them know I despise my insides,
I'm gonna play the game like the rest,
Life is a speed bump on my way to success,
Drop the lights and grab your shadows,
I need a blanket from the heat of this world,
Tonight we'll dine in starlight,
I'll tell you I'm not worth the sorrow,
Let's sing a song about my image,
So when I vanish,
Tell them that I was special,
That I should've remained in this hell,
But don't tell me I was wanted,
I've already painted my image,
Don't let me die in vain for myself,
I'll let denial kill my senses,
For I'm not the beloved friend that you seek,
I'm the fallen portrait from the sky,
I'll keep believing my lies.
