Last Wishing Star

by Unseen Exposure   May 19, 2004

Dancing in the moonlight,
Eye on one bright star,
Lonesome in the fading sky,
Close but yet so far,

Isolated from the other clusters,
But never stops the glow,
Other eyes look past,
Something they’ll never know,

I see you up there one bright star,
You have caught my glance,
Tonight I’ll make my wish,
And be glad I got the chance,

You and I are much alike,
In more ways then one,
You’re alone but holding on,
Until you know you’re done,

Seeing everything around you brighter,
But you’ll never stop to care,
You’re just you, no more, no less,
Even if others don’t turn to stare,

You and I, we give our best,
Even when we get shut down,
We can wish on each other tonight,
Until the morning rolls around,

Tomorrow night, I’ll look for you,
And make my same last wish,
I’ll wish to die and not wake up,
And end this life with death's last kiss.
