Sometimes no matter how much you wish
The one you want will never be with you
Friends say "oh there are plenty of other fish..."
But the others just don't seem to do.
He's the only one i see
No matter who else is near
I'm sure he's the only one for me
And that is what i fear.
Those nights spent in his arms
He could never possibly forget
He has had me hypnotised by his charm
From the first time that we met.
We've been through so much
Because of him i'll never be the same
I'd do anything for his touch
Or to hear him lovingly call my name.
I don't understand the way he thinks
I don't understand what to do
All he does is drink
And i'm left here feeling blue.
I guess it's true that you can't help how you feel
But somehow i just thought he felt this way too
That somehow all of this was real
That all those things he said were true.
But I guess sometimes no matter how much I wish
The one I want will never be mine
Yes, "there are plenty of other fish"
But he's just one of a kind.
I love him.
