Blue Hour (with added stanza)

by Unrequited   Feb 26, 2008

It's that moment when everything is still
and all things suspend in time
your heart stops beating
your lungs stop breathing
the innocent stop bleeding
when all life pauses,
and folds itself into that hour...
when everything turns blue.

dreamy winds drain silent from the clouds
and bring time to its knees
flowers consume the air,
as a lasting breath fills your lungs.
chilling memories of a fresh rose mist,
they forever haunt your mind with brilliance
one color rules all,
frozen in this moment.

the dead forget about dying
fliers abandon their flying
rain refrains from falling
the earthworms quit their crawling
fires cease their burning
lovers halt their yearning
tree branches no longer sway
the sunlight begins to fall away...
and then it stops!

in the air,
everything and nothing.
your mind will fail to think
these eyes can't even blink
within this hour,
we drown in blue
as sun and moon blend as one.

blue is the color of life,
and we are subjected to its beauty.
for these moments, we gaze
into the sky
our eyes patiently waiting to shed a tear.

I will hold this grace
within my heart
and fold my love
into this hour...
as we drown ourselves in blue.

Yes, one of my favorite poems of yours. blue is also my favorite color because it is the longest light wave, extending past all other colors, which kinda reminds me of love, lol.:) just a lil tidbit, heh.
