This too shall pass away

To say Good bye is never easy,
Yet say Good bye I must,
Even though love him still I do.

He made me feel as beautiful as a rose blooming on a mid summer day,
He made me feel as though I reached the haven I craved for within his arms,
He made me realize its time to lay my past to rest,
He made me feel as though I finally belong.

My foolish heart,
Longing for a love I never had,
Let me open my heart to him,
Let me believe in his love for me,
Let me trust him.

Your smile makes me fly,
When you smile all my sorrows go away,
I would die a million deaths just to see you smile,
Yet in the end,
All those words,
Faded in to nothingness just like my smile.

A lot of things I may have done,
But never did I betray him,
Punished me for sins I did not commit,
Judged me left and right,
My pleas fell on deaf ears.

It saddens me he cannot feel the truth,
It saddens me he refused to listen,
It saddens me he does not have it in him to believe.

I shall always remember him,
As the guy who made me happy and smile,
Even if only for a moment,
And gave me the courage to let go of my past,
I regret nothing,
But I wish things were different,
What has been done cannot be undone,
I gave him my heart,
I love him,
I cannot forget him,
But I cannot forgive him,
Thus my heart grieves for him,
for me, and
For what could have been
Yet a ghost of a smile wavers on my lips,
For,
This too shall pass away.
