See If You Stay Ahead

by Kalie M   Feb 26, 2008

Wandering aimlessly, yet decisions not unsure
i comprehend my actions for my world was sure pure
knowing where life leads and what's required to be done
yet unfortunately lost in what i was told would be fun
i wander in places i've seem to have known
lying beside what i wish i was never shown
delicate and frail, descriptions of the past
for as life progresses, my walk strongly lasts
advice isn't needed, i'm not afraid to do what i dread
for i'll take a step back, and let you walk ahead
and see if i'm honestly alone in your head

This is really good, it uses figurative language, and makes you think about the deeper meaning...BUT---I is capitalized :P work on that! The end sounds a little forced, but all in all I like it---I haven't read your other poems, but try to get out of rhyming couplets--try something mixed up....like something out of Edwin Arlington Robinson. Good job!

    Rock on!
