The love that was never meant to be

I saw u there, sitting alone
i approached u with butterflies in my stomach
you asked me to sit but I said no
i walked away and then u followed

i saw ur shadow fade in mine
as a tear rushed down my face
You grabbed my hand and said "what's wrong?"
but I still said nothing.

the next day i saw u again, still the aching inside me
i wanted to tell you this so bad
but I wouldn't let me
i looked for a second then on my way i went

u called and called until u gave up
the aching is burning inside me
"why can't i tell him?" i said to myself
i turned the light off as my head hit the pillow

i woke up with the aching gone
today was the day i told u
i walked to ur locker and smiled to you
"i love you" i said with a smile on my face

"oh boy" he said with a heavy sigh
he took me to the side and said he loves someone else
then i knew my world was crashing
But I kept my head held high and said
I guess it was never meant to be.
