The Etheree of Prometheus

The Etheree of Prometheus

Thy
Heart burns
Me slowly
Maliciously
While mine heart cradles
Thou in pity, in shame.
Surely, thine eyes be sightless;
Lest thee see thine own destruction,
For thou art damned to a common fate.
Thine own hand shall condemn thee, evermore!

*Unfamiliar with Prometheus? According to Greek mythology, he went against Zeus and brought Fire to mankind. It is said that through Prometheus, all human arts were born. As punishment, Zeus had Prometheus shackled to a cliff in the desert for thousands of years. This etheree takes place during the prison sentence, between Zeus and Prometheus.

**Zeus' hand DOES actually condemn him eventually, but I won't go into that now. :)
