Dignity and Grace

by Bill Turner   Feb 26, 2008

A click and a slip of the knife
Slowly edging back the screen
Unlocking your world of dreams
Night is when I slip into your life
Bringing with me guns and strife

I am not after jewels and such
Though I will take them when I go
I have a job that needs to be done
So simple, it just takes the right touch
You went too far, you took too much

Corporate espionage led me here
Hired by a competitor to do a job
Take care of a piece of work
You never knew that you should fear
Sitting in front of the TV nursing a beer

Now I am off to another place
Silencer, pistol and blade at the ready
Dirt to do, money to earn
I try not to look at your face
As I let you die with dignity and grace

This really gave me chills. What a piece you have penned here. Dark and chilling. Imagery is awesome.
    Take care
