That's What You Get

by Beautiful Chaos   Feb 27, 2008

My bed is empty,
Sheets are cold,
The bitter wind,
Is taking hold.

The drink is hollow,
Drugs just drain,
Nothing truly,
Drowns the pain.

A lonely road,
A vacant lot,
Inside my head,
The lies I bought.

A ghostly house,
Devoid of dreams,
Brought to life,
By angry screams.

Pity's cheap,
I give you none,
Live with all,
The things you've done.

Carry burdens,
All your years,
Live inside,
Your deepest fears.

Ever burning,
In your lies,
Fiery lips,
And smokey eyes.

What you can't give,
You should not take,
For karma,
Is the sweetest ache.

Ouch! The venom! This is my favourite stanza. The anger and sheer bitterness in this poem along with the great pace make it completely awesome. 5/5
