A Minstrel of Contradiction

by Elizabeth Ann   Feb 28, 2008

What, with my paradoxal life am I to live? Would I sacrifice one for the single potential of completion in that chosen fashion? I live within a range of unreality so far that I must alleviate most from its equation. For no one with a common rational can accept my truth, and thus the nature of my two halves remains a secret.

It is a choice amongst other things that I keep myself from them (and in that decision although necessary I am exceptionally possessive, but alone.) This double-edged sword converts my periodic exploit of emotion to a mysterious exemption of reason

What would I sacrifice for that mystery to end, so that I might finally lie flat beside another and reign over the stars in my simplicity? I would give nothing. Every time I brood over this I always reach the same conclusion-I am what I am as of yesterday, remain what I am unto today, and shall ever be as I am come tomorrow.

I thank you for your commentary, GrammaConcept.

I hope here to better explain what is my style; additionally, perhaps I might broaden your understanding of what I see as "freestyle".

As you may notice in most of my writing, it is more accurate to say that I write in the style of a diary-more specifically-in the diary-style of an ancient being who has seen countless ages. Following that line of thought, it could be said that my “Ancients” contain a certain mysticism about them. Common words would sound too common, and sometimes I must create words that I find to be more appropriate to my descriptions (to my character’s).

Using your imagination now, how would an Ancient describe his world? Are there words that have been lost in history, in time, that has not been lost on an Ancient? See Shakespeare’s work for example; as he was one of my original inspirations to “justify” my means of expression. I have been enlightened to a unique style of poetry as a result of writers such as Shakespeare. Moreover, based on my own observations of the sometimes limited selection of words that currently exist. Lastly, consider how words come to be in the first place.

I appreciate your patience throughout this long-winded explanation.

Beautifully painted, poignantly affective, and effective...a touch of Soul diary....

My dear, this is a marvelous piece of poetic prose...forgive me for interfering but...it is a public forum..;-)..so..
The 'poetry ' here would really deliver itself as poetry if you separated some of those magically visual insights into more individually phrased lines.....Bellieve that I am not whatsoever suggesting that you change any content....only, somewhat, form.....

(and there are a couple of spelling glitches)
