Number Three

Two going on three have broken my heart
the first knew nothing of my love because distance tore us apart
the second though our love was mutual it didnt work out in the end
he chose my two best friends instead and saw me as no more than a friend
now the third, its still in progress, and though its just begun
i can see that it will be no better than 2 and just as bad as one
he gives me just enough to keep me standing by
then hurts me when he talks of her and leaves me wondering why
why do I still see him as more than a friend
when I know there will only be heartbreak in the end
I guess I could be wrong and everything could work out right
But I doubt it because id be too happy and it just wouldnt be my life
So I guess ill just have to wait and see
If I find love for once and end up with number three
