Vision of New Flames

by RadianceInReverse   Feb 28, 2008

A fire once burned deep inside
with an abundance of love,
I was carried away

Too quickly it faded out
the kindling became damp
a long with the peace within

with fear and worry
I step out into a cold world,
a new vision takes over

dark gray and black
is all that I can see
dreary weather, solemn me

with caution and sobriety
I walk near a flaming stone
with unassurance and greed

I want it back
that warm feeling within
but fear overcomes me

my vision fails my moving feet
I stumble, with a gazing leap
with no pride, I pick up,
with pure failure on my mind

My unsteady heart screams,
"Give up trying,
you'll never fully recover
that burning power that once died!"

My future in plain sight
still I see no glory,
forever to be dark and dreary
O' Solemn Me!
