Solitude

by Joseph R Hanna   Feb 29, 2008

The bathroom facet drips like a clock running back-wards
A single toothbrush hangs alone.

Arctic solitude swallowing like suffocating Frost
and spits me out in disgust

Neon flickering, the whoosh of cars passing by
Companions of the cold, gray curb on were I sit

Walking down this road I've been before
the neon turns to the light of warmth by day break

And my days now I've no longer been in the Arctic solitude I now have someone, something to hold on and it belongs to this lonely curb with I've befriended.
