The Gift

There are a lot of things that happens to us on a daily bases
Things that we ignore or take for granted
Everyday in our lives is a gift to treasure
Every smile, laughter or joy is a blessing
When your father hold you near
When your son whispers in you ears
When your friends call u dear
When the sun shines in our little town here
All of these things I took for granted
Never knowing that what I have is what everyone seek
People live & die everyday to fulfill there dreams
Your life or mine could be that dream
Today I've learned the truth
I learned how to value what really matters
The gift of life, family, knowledge, dreams & peace

    Message of this piece is truly deep and absolutely true, I agree with your topic and I wrote a one or two poems with the same topic. Anyway I will be totally honest with you, I don't like repetition of some words too much(like when your) but the message of this poem is still amazing. I like pieces with more metaphors but still this one is truly good, and I enjoyed in every line.
