I am Legend

by Sharlene   Feb 29, 2008

I could die tomorrow and be in the ground
Vanish forever without a sound
But something of me on this earth will stay
Live and thrive no matter the day

See though I'll be gone my name will be known
Cherished and loved like a queen on her throne
Spoken like a poem and sung as a song
Some lyrics of niceness and some lines of wrong
I am legend I say and I'll never be gone

My face will be painted and hung up on the wall
See though I'll be gone my love will still fall
You'll see me on TV read about me in books
Taught of my beauty and learned of my looks

You'll hear me on CD's might play with my kids
Might read all my poems but that won't be it
I could vanish forever without a sound
But I promise something of me will still be around

Might be my photo
My offspring
I might even get my own day
But I will be remembered "I am legend" I say
